This online store and website is brought to you by two of
the leading Barbie doll experts for collectors - Diamonds
and Dolls and Weefoke Dolls. For those of you who are new to
one name or the other, here is some short background
information about how the stores got started with Barbie:
Diamonds and Dolls was created in 1989 by Miss Alice
Spackman. At the time she was married to Maurice Norman. He
later passed with cancer and was missed in the Barbie world
of doll shows. She then married Jim Spackman and he helped
her on the doll shows.
It all started with the 1988 Happy Holidays Barbie Doll.
Alice was a collector herself but decided to buy out the
rest of K-Mart's stock once they put them on sale. Maurice
was not too thrilled with the idea but became more thrilled
when they saw the newspaper the next morning with the 1988
Holiday Barbie pictured on the front.
She then applied to become a Mattel Dealer and was approved.
She has been selling Barbie dolls ever since! Miss Alice
made the tough decision to retire in 2007. This is when
Amanda Eagan of Weefoke Empire became Diamonds and Dolls!
Miss Alice will still be visiting Barbie Conventions and
passing her knowledge on through Amanda.
Diamondsanddolls.net will be featuring different Barbies -
some with a great story behind some on how Miss Alice
obtained them.
Weefoke Empire was established by "Gramma" Nikki Menconi of
Bremerton, WA, in the late 1980s. Due to unfortunate health
problems it forced her to quit doing what she enjoyed most.
Something that was so sad to her was so very exciting to me,
Amanda Eagan of Odessa, MO. I bought her complete inventory
and am now fulfilling my dreams and doing what I enjoy the
most. We all must admit that no matter how old we get
Barbies will always be our #1 idol. I've loved them from the
beginning and continue to love them and bring them into my
and my daughter's life.
I hope to bring them to you and your loved ones too! I am so
blessed to bring this online store to all of you! In Spring
of 2008 there will be a new doll shop for you to come and
visit.
